Over 150 attendees from throughout the UK joined Joinerysoft to learn about their complete solution for CE marking. Joinery manufacturers travelled from Northern Ireland, Norfolk, Sussex, Scotland, Kent and Northumberland to name just a few, to attend the 2 hour workshops held in the morning and afternoon of Thursday 13th June 2013. Utilising the superb conference facilities at NFU head quarters in Stratford upon Avon, the auditorium provided tiered seating for up to 100 attendees at a time.
During the workshop Joinerysoft’s Managing Director, Alan Turner demonstrated how to set up the JMS factory production control system and explained the intricacies of when to CE mark and when not to. Representatives from BWF, Leitz Tooling UK, Felder, Coastal, Mighton Products and Timbmet also exhibited and networked with delegates during session breaks.
The design, quoting and manufacturing software which has for the last 2 years lead the way with u-value compliance with building regulations part L has now been upgraded to include a factory production control system, declaration of performance certificates and printing of CE labels. The latest CE marking update from Joinerysoft is also a free release to all customers who subscribe to Joinerysoft’s support and maintenance contract.
Andrew Gray, Brookeswood Ltd who uses the JMS software for quoting and manufacturing says, “We had previously received information on CE marking from a number of different sources but the Joinerysoft workshop provided the most comprehensive explanation so far and filled in the final pieces of the jigsaw. The full implication of CE marking became apparent and enabled us to go back and re-look at our preparation. There were some areas of the legislation that we hadn’t quite interpreted correctly and following the workshop we are able to fine tune our systems before the 1st July deadline. I certainly wouldn’t have missed the workshop.”
Managing Director, Alan Turner, explained, “Joinerysoft have been in close discussions with several UK notified bodies responsible for enforcing the new CE marking legislation to ensure that our software contains everything necessary for joinery companies to comply.”
Taking their responsibility seriously to provide a total solution Joinerysoft have negotiated with printer manufacturer TSC Bar Code Solutions to provide CE label printers at a reduced price for Joinerysoft customers. The queues of customers attending the workshop who patiently waited to collect advance orders of CE label printers showed the level of commitment to ensuring that they would be ready for the legislation start date on 1st July. As the largest supplier of software to the timber joinery industry in the UK Joinerysoft has been able to negotiate reduced rates for labels for CE marking too.
John Berry, Joinerysoft’s Support Manager was on hand at the workshops to ensure that joiners attending had a thorough understanding of the software to enable them to set up their systems before the July 1st deadline. John added, “Customers were amazed at how informative the workshop was and how much JMS does for them. There was an outstanding positive response to what joiners saw and acceptance of the need to embrace this new regulation.”
Due to demand for the CE marking workshop Joinerysoft have released a second date for another CE marking workshop on Monday 15th July 2013 at the same venue in Stratford upon Avon. To book a place visit Joinerysoft’s online booking as soon as possible as places are limited. (Online booking: www.joinerysoft.com/customer/list/workshops/)
Comments after the workshop included a response from Glyn Burgreave, The Cabinet Makers, “Thank you to the Joinerysoft team for providing the CE workshop, you have obviously put a lot of work in here and continue to do so.”
