Over 30 years ago in 1983, we developed our first software package for one joiner who wanted to produce estimates and cutting lists for sliding sash windows and doors. This was written by our founder Dave Turner, a self employed computer programmer with a background of designing large systems in different industries. This one joiner loved it and used it successfully for over 20 years. In 2001, Dave’s son Alan Turner had the idea that we would see whether there was a demand for this software in the bespoke joinery market. We found there was. There was nothing out there as conventional software programmes just did not work for the custom and heritage joinery markets.
Our new programme Joinery Management Software (JMS) was written for joiners designed not to need computer knowledge to run it but simply joinery knowledge. Utilising graphical images that show the joiner exactly what he is getting, JMS was designed to be simple to use. In 2004 we launched JMS Windows, our first software package for timber joinery. Over the next few years we included modules for many other joinery items including Sliding Sash (Double Hung), Doors and Doorframes, Stairs, Bill of Materials and CNC links. We've also added over 100 additional features as we listened to our customers.
In 2018 we are still a family business who employ 22 fantastic people and now have sold over 900 systems throughout the UK and internationally. Customers can be found in the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Canada, USA, Australia and New Zealand.
In December 2020 we lost one of the co-founders of Joinerysoft, Dave Turner.
Dave father to Alan our Managing Director and Tom our IT Director originally wrote a joinery estimating program in 1983 for a joiner who used it for over 20 years! It was this, that sparked the idea for Joinerysoft and led to where the company is now.
