Trainer & Customer Support

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our customer support team.

Due to expansion Joinerysoft has a vacancy. This position when you are not out training at premises is remotely based, however you would be required to attend our office in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire at least once a week, you could work there full time if you so wished.

Joinerysoft is a leading supplier of software to the bespoke timber joinery market. Based in the UK we provide support to over 800 joinery manufacturers who use our software throughout the world. Our continuous development policy means that we are constantly improving our software based upon customer feedback. Our software is designed to be easy to use and based upon joinery terminology.

This is a varied role supporting both customers and internal staff which will provide satisfaction to someone who enjoys helping, speaking to people and solving problems.

This role can be split into 4 main areas;

  1. Install / configure software for new Joinerysoft customers
  2. Provide technical support to existing Joinerysoft customers
  3. Provide training workshops on software to internal staff and Joinerysoft customers
  4. Provide technical joinery knowledge to the development team to assist with future development of Joinerysoft products

Each of these roles is described in more detail below.

Install/configure software for new Joinerysoft customers

This role will involve visiting customers at their premises to install and configure their Joinerysoft software. This will involve training customers in how to use their software using established training materials. Full training on the use of Joinerysoft’s software will be provided, including 4-6 weeks’ shadowing Joinerysoft’s experienced installation team. The role will occasionally involve staying away for one to two nights at a time.

Provide technical support to existing Joinerysoft customers.

As part of the support team the role will provide telephone and email support to Joinerysoft’s 800+ customer base. Using remote login software you will be required to demonstrate how to use Joinerysoft’s software on customer's’ own computers remotely to answer their questions.

Provide training workshops on software to internal staff and Joinerysoft customers

The role will involve delivering courses to a set programme and also assist our other trainers in developing new courses. The role will also involve training internal staff to expand knowledge of software and joinery terminology.

Provide technical joinery knowledge to the development team to assist with future development of Joinerysoft products

This role will involve working with the Joinerysoft development team to explain joinery methods and provide joinery knowledge to help write joinery specifications for new software.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have experience in the joinery industry and understand joinery construction methods.
  • Be computer literate and preferably have some experience with estimating software. Experience in CNC software or JMS would be an advantage.
  • Be able to communicate effectively to individuals or groups.
  • Be friendly and able to get on with all types of people.
  • Have a full driving licence.
  • Be flexible - the role will involve travel and time away from home.
  • Be confident, enthusiastic and professional.
  • Be able to deliver training sessions independently, though with support initially.

Python Programmer

This is a unique opportunity for Python / Django programmer to join a strong small team of programmers in an innovative company providing a commercial software solution for the joinery industry.

Based remotely, our team of programmers have developed cutting edge software that leads the industry. We are at the forefront conceptually designing new methodologies to combine 3D modelling, integrated ERP, and costing all within web enabled software.

We need a technical expert who can push boundaries and think creatively. To do this job you’ll need to enjoy Maths and be good at Geometry and Trigonometry. We need programmers who can work independently but within a team framework, brainstorming solutions and linking code. The role will involve working on our joinery CAD engine written in C++, adding enhancements and fixing bugs.

You’ll need to report regularly to your Project Manager to ensure the whole project is on schedule. There will be pressure and tight deadlines, but we’ll support you and reward you too.

Essential Qualities:

  • Excellent knowledge of Python.
  • Excellent knowledge of developing within a web framework. (Django or/and Ruby on Rails(RoR))
  • Excellent knowledge of HTML
  • Excellent knowledge of Javascript
  • Excellent Knowledge of CSS
  • Understand relational databases
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • well organised with good attention to detail,
  • Capable of working under pressure and on own initiative.

Desirable Qualities:

  • SQL
  • C++

Salary £25,000 – 35,000 per annum (plus 5% pension contributions)
